Without the people who create the best work, there would be no companies or campaigns, so the people rankings remain an important focus of this study. With 590 Chief Creative Officers, 808 Executive Creative Directors, 2,322 Creative Directors, 1,521 Copywriters and 1,850 Art Directors from 74 countries assessed in the rankings, we can safely say that this is the definitive who’s who of the most awarded creatives in the world. This exhaustive fieldwork covered the period January 1 to December 31, 2023, and looked at the following 22 awards including;
- Dubai Lynx
- Spikes Asia
- Adfest
- Clio Awards
- Guldägget Sweden Awards
- D&AD
- The Drum Awards
- The One Show
- Danish Creative Circle
- ADC US
- Cannes Lions
- New York Advertising Awards
- Gerety Awards
- Kinsale Sharks
- Cresta Awards
- ADCC
- Golden Drum
- The Loeries
- London International Awards
- El Ojo de Iberoamérica

Each award win is weighted according to whether it’s part of a domestic, continental or global scheme. Points are given for Grand Prix/Best in Show, Gold, Silver, Bronze and shortlisted work; for shows that do not adopt this prize structure, scoring is adapted accordingly.
The Drum Awards is a global awards program with categories for Media, Technology and Marketing, as well as Creativity. Only the creative categories count towards the World Creative Rankings.
Points are allocated to the campaign, the agency, the advertiser and the individuals involved in the creative process. This informs the rankings of the top campaigns but also agency networks, holding companies, advertisers and the creative talent behind the work.
The research reviews individuals credited with winning work, meaning only individuals and companies named on entries are included in the rankings.
