“We’re thrilled for all film fans to experience The Calm,” said Stefan Ponikva, vice-president of brand communication and brand experience at BMW. “When we commissioned this film, we knew we were working within a set of standards created by the significance of past BMW Films productions, and we’re proud to be building on that tradition with this new and compelling storyline.”

Starring French actress Pom Klementieff with a cameo from Uma Thurman, teasers for ‘The Calm’ landed today. It promises a seven-minute epic and a world-first silent car chase and sees the Kill Bill actress plays the role of a secret agent tasked with delivering a package to Cannes.

Continuing the star power theme, behind the camera there was Joseph Kosinski, famed for Top Gun: Maverick, who served as the film’s executive producer, with Marvel’s Sam Hargrave directing.

“BMW Films is an integral part of BMW’s rich history within the world of cinema,” added Jens Thiemer, senior vice-president of customer and brand at BMW. “The creative and innovative nature of this short film showcases the cutting-edge approach this series has taken since the beginning. Bringing the franchise back in 2023 with two powerful female leads feels especially poignant.”
